As a girl, of course I do have quite a lot of pieces of clothing. About the one that I like most, what Id like to say is a piece of Chinese traditiona dress which is also called cheongsam. Usually it is a straight dress and made of silk or cotton. Th e colar is stand-up and there must be a slit in one side of the skirt. It was quite a popular dress for females at the beginning of 20th century. The design of it is more suitable to show an Eastern females fiqure. Therefore, it earned popularity easily once it into the market. Even nowadays its a kind of collection for some ashion designers who believe they can gain much inspiration from that when they design fashionable clothes.

The cheongsam Im talking about was given by my grandma who is already 90 years old. She told me that the dress was bought around 70 years ago on the day when she received her first salary. In fact, its not only a piece of clothes for us but alsoembodies the spirit that we can change our lives with our own hands. More importantly, being good ooking is of great importance for a girl and we should never forget to be decent, delicate and polite. Nowadays, wearing a piece of cheongsam is a little bit odd.

However, I do have a plan to wear it on my wedding ceremony if my parents permit Its a 100% handmade one and we can also say it is a piece of artwork. Besides, it means a lot to me and I plan to hand it down from generation to generation. It contains many things about cultures, traditions and history of my family.
