SAT作文題目由兩部分組成，1) Issue;2) Assignment。

Nowadays nothing is private: our culture has become too confessional and self-expressive. People think that to hide one’s thoughts or feelings is to pretend not to have those thoughts or feelings. They assume that honesty requires one to express every inclination and impulse.

Assignment: Should people make more of an effort to keep some things private? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.

SAT作文就是要回答Assignment中的問(wèn)題，在這道題目中就是“Should people make more of an effort to keep some things private?”。而Issue的作用是給考生提供理解Assignment的線索。在Assignment中， “keep some things private”之中的some things指的究竟是什么?根據(jù)Issue中的文字，考生可以確定“Some things”包括“thoughts”、“feelings”、“inclination”、“impulse”等等。

SAT作文評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)與托福作文評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)非常接近，都要求考生的作文“深入”、“良好地組織”、“良好地展開(kāi)”、“用詞準(zhǔn)確”、“句法多樣”、“允許少量錯(cuò)誤”……

每一種留學(xué)考試中的作文部分，基本上對(duì)中國(guó)學(xué)生來(lái)講都很可能是最難的部分?？荚嚋?zhǔn)備過(guò)程中，最可能出現(xiàn)的陷阱就是“回避困難”。很多人明知道作文重要(在SAT考試中，滿分12分的作文，每得1分相當(dāng)于總分增 加40分)，但基于這樣那樣的原因，總是一拖再拖，直至最終上考場(chǎng)才發(fā)現(xiàn)提筆容易下筆難。

有心的考生，應(yīng)該從現(xiàn)在開(kāi)始，至少一周認(rèn)真寫(xiě)上兩三篇，寫(xiě)得好不好倒在其次——因?yàn)?)沒(méi)有人從一開(kāi)始就寫(xiě)得好;2)但凡正常人都會(huì)通過(guò)練習(xí)獲得進(jìn)步——重要的是要從現(xiàn)在就開(kāi)始寫(xiě)。
